Regardless of the age of your kiddos, for over a year now...

You’ve been questioning, adapting, grieving, practicing gratitude, judging yourself and others, crying, stewing… and overall riding the rollercoaster of parenting in a pandemic

To say that this year has been a lot and you’re tired… is almost a slap in the face.
There’s really no way to express in words how hard this year has been unless you’ve lived it.
And sure… spring is springing, and schools are re-opening, but—

You can’t just flip a switch on the unresolved feelings from the past year...

- Worry and anxiety

- Fear

- Decision fatigue and overwhelm

- Bitterness and rage

- Sadness

ALL of which have been exacerbated by ZERO self-care (which isn’t your fault when “MOM!” is on repeat in your house and there are no less than 3,000 demands of you every hour.

You want to finally feel like you can take a deep breath again

You want to feel at ease.

You want to feel comfortable in your body, your neighborhood, and even your grocery store...without being overwhelmed by tension and a feeling of being unsafe.

It’s more important than ever to be with people who “get it” and can help you exit the last year with grace, heal and resolve all the unprocessed and unresolved emotions.

When you signed up to be a mom, you didn’t know that a global pandemic would be a part of it...

If you're a new mom, you envisioned shopping for cute baby outfits IN a store and fun playdates and music classes with new Mom friends.

If you have young kids, you pictured your first day of school photos with no masks and dropping your kid(s) OFF at an actual bus stop or school, not walking them back inside to open a laptop for remote learning. You are looking forward to FINALLY having a couple hours in the day to yourself.

Why do I know this is so important?

Because as a therapist and fellow mom there are 3 things I know you need right now:

  • Rest and recovery
  • Renewed strength and confidence
  • Self-regulation strategies and trauma healing

And when you learn how to “insource” (vs. outsource) these things, you

  • Learn what your needs are
  • Learn how to meet your needs instead of wishing your mom would say this, or relying on your partner to tell you to go for your run, or waiting for other people to give you permission
  • Finally feel the way your kids feel when you nurture them: safe, connected and joyful

These are all benefits you get when you embody a mindfulness practice that works for you.

Mindfulness is the way forward that doesn’t involve bringing your exhaustion and overwhelm with you

It is a way to feel at peace and feel resolved over what should have or could have been last year.

It takes:

  • Self-awareness to clearly see what is happening in your mind and body so that you can authentically and authoritatively meet your own needs.
  • Self-confidence to embrace decision-making for yourself and your family in a way that feels good to YOU.
  • Self-acceptance to stay present in your inner world (all the events and experiences happening in your mind and body) and outer world (all the events and experiences happening around you) WITHOUT resistance and judgment that leads you to feel worse.
  • Self-compassion to treat, talk to and take care of yourself in a way that ACTUALLY helps you heal and supports you during challenging times.
  • Simple, accessible tools and practices that fit into your everyday life that can help you heal and move forward.
  • Learning how to “insource” (vs. outsource) your self-care via self-massage, breath and movement.

Disclaimer: These aren’t fluffy skills.

They ARE the keys that will help you navigate this time. More than that though - to navigate it with grace and be at peace. And dare I say - getting onto this “bridge” of support as you transition out of the past year, will lead you to come out of this pandemic more empowered and self-aware and self-confident than when you went in!

And because self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-kindness are skills, with the right education and support, you can nurture and develop them in yourself.

I’m here to show you how.

Hi, I’m Sarah Harmon, creator of The School of MOM.

I'm a therapist, yoga & mindfulness teacher and mother to two girls.

The School of MOM was birthed (pun intended!) out of my personal experience as a mother and its intersection with my professional experience in my therapy practice and yoga classes, working with moms.

About a decade ago, personal issues with my own Mother pushed me into the deep end of struggles. I knew many of my clients and friends were experiencing these challenges too...

  • high self-expectations
  • self-doubt
  • self-criticism and
  • endlessly seeking approval

...they showed up everywhere. And support and affirmation from my own Mother wasn't only hard to come by, it was unavailable. And when you’re pushed into the deep end, it truly is sink or swim. But I learned...

There was a floatation device that was accessible to me at ALL times, that I didn't know was there — the ancient wisdom and teachings of mindfulness and self-compassion...

And if you’re a fellow science and data nerd - the awesome thing to note is that all of these practices are backed by modern day data and science!

Speaking of devices that are monumentally impactful, I also came to understand during this challenging time how my favorite “yoga tool” ie.Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls were not just about giving yourself some physical relief via self-massage. These little magic balls became the little compassionate companions on the presence and self-compassion journey.

They not only helped me take self-care into my own hands, they became the tangible tool for me to build self-awareness and heal on a mental, physical and emotional level.

It is this healing and awareness that has prepared me well to guide and support you on your journey with mothering, taking care of yourself and healing on many levels!

I’ve brought all my personal and professional experience, training and wisdom together to share with you in a transformative group coaching and self-care program for you to experience the same life-changing impact mindfulness and self-compassion can have on your life.

Introducing

Mothering Oneself Mindfully

Discover and apply the principles of mindfulness  -curiosity, kindness, acceptance and discernment - so you can be the present, compassionate and resilient humans you want to raise

Mothering Oneself Mindfully isn’t another self-care ‘thing’ that you know is good for you but life gets in the way of.

It’s an 8-week-long intentionally curated, deeply supportive virtual group coaching and self-care program that will help you learn/re-learn how to rest, regulate and strengthen your mind and body.

Designed for busy moms, these two transformative months include live weekly self-care classes (which involve Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls!) and come with the professional and community support to help you positively shift your relationship with yourself as a mother and break generational cycles of guilt, shame and judgment

Founded by a licensed mental therapist and yoga & mindfulness teacher (that’s me!), Mothering Oneself Mindfully is a one of a kind program geared towards busy moms that combines evidence-based practices from psychology with the ancient wisdom and teachings of mindfulness.

By the end of this 8 week program, you’ll have:

A way to personally integrate an array of mindfulness and self-care practices without feeling like there’s another thing on your to-do list

A deep understanding of why Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls can be your “go-to” self-care tool and how use them for on-demand emotional relief

Clarity on what your mothering “model” looked/looks like and feel empowered to make conscious shifts that serve you and future generations to come in your family

New connections with like-minded women and moms who share the passion learning about themselves, even if it means being vulnerable

A whole new level of self-compassion, confidence, and peace

"To say Sarah and The School of MOM has helped me become a better mom, wife, business partner, and boss, essentially a better human, would be a vast understatement. She has helped me work towards becoming the best version of myself.

She has taught me how to be more present and appreciative of my time with my kids through mindfulness and self-compassion. She has taught me to be less frustrated with challenging situations and/or people in my life through resetting my expectations and using boundaries.

She is the very best at what she does."

- Jamie O'Day, Founder of Boston NAPS

Mothering Oneself Mindfully Group Coaching Program includes these 3 Core Components so you can actually integrate mindfulness into your everyday life

Immerse yourself in 4 modules that include educational and practice videos, and accompanying workbooks.

Engage in deeper learning through access to group coaching calls and moderated private instagram and facebook communities for ongoing support and accountability.

Understand how mindfulness applies and can be integrated in your daily life and gain strategies for real-life application from Sarah and guest experts.

Here are the four key components of mindfulness that we’ll cover during our 8 weeks together…

Curiosity/Self-awareness

In order to make positive change, you need to start with seeing your mind, emotions and body clearly (without judgment!).

 Integration & Reflection

Each module has a week for you to marinate on and practice what's being covered. Space and time to reflect and experiment are vital to reaping the benefits of mindfulness and self-compassion!

Discernment/Self-empowerment

Discernment is the difference beween snap judgments/reactions and thoughtful/intentional responses. The space between trigger and response is where mindful discernment lies - and harnessing this skill is truly a superpower!

Integration & Reflection

Acceptance/Self-acceptance

The opposite of acceptance is resistance and mindfulness teaches us that this is actually the root cause of suffering! Learning how to allow and accept what is happening is a gateway to finding peace and grace with yourself and others.

Integration & Reflection

Kindness/Self-compassion

This module is truly the heart of the Mothering Oneself Mindfully Program as you aren't practicing mindfulness if you aren't practicing kindness/self-kindness. Learning what self-compassion is and how to bring it into your everyday life is a key component in becoming the human you want to raise.

Integration & Reflection

This 8 Week coaching program kicks off on Monday, April 26th 2021

Mothering Oneself Mindfully has been designed for you to learn mindfulness and self-compassion skills and ACTUALLY use them in your everyday (in the most efficient way possible!) This is why live teaching and coaching is the foundation of this program. Here’s what your live offering time commitment would look like:

1. We’ll have a live class at 7:45 pm every Monday to create consistency and accountability with carving out and prioritizing time for YOU. These will either be Live MOM OM (Mothering Oneself Mindfully On Monday) self-care class with myself OR Guest Teacher classes (recordings available). These guest classes help you bring rest, renewed strength and confidence, and self-regulation strategies into your life.

2. Then we’ll have 4x Group Coaching Calls every second Thursday at either 7:45 pm or 1 pm EST (choose the time that works for you) these bi-weekly group coaching calls to dive more deeply into the module materials and most importantly, how the material applies to your life. Group coaching calls are where you can get coached and watch others get coached. Previous participants of the Mothering Oneself Mindfully Program say that this is the most impactful of the program!

** Important note: I'm opening up 4 "Extra Support" spots for those interested in adding on individual coaching - this is currently the ONLY way to work with me one on one! **

3. In regards to the educational and practice component of the program, the 4 Modules introduce the  foundational principles of mindfulness, the science behind why they are so beneficial, and accessible tools on how to practice them.

Each module includes short  (5 - 15 min) education and practice videos. They are intentionally created in “bite sizes” so you can watch them in the same amount of time as a Daniel Tiger/Doc McStuffins/Peppa Pig/Whatever the current show obsession is...and even have a few extra minutes to spare for whatever else you want to do! And/or - you can listen to them on the go with the (free) app.

This means that your total time commitment (to yourself) each week is less than 2 hours.

Important note: When you sign up for the Mothering Oneself Mindfully Program, you gain lifelong access to ALL educational, Yoga Tune Up Therapy ball rolling and mindfulness meditation videos - including all MOM OM recordings and future LIVE guest calls!

"Finding connection with other moms - especially during this time of profound isolation- was a true solace. Sarah helped us share our experiences in a way that was revealing and honest, but still comfortable. I don’t think it’s easy to find a community of supportive and positive moms, even under the best of circumstances. Sarah is building that community with The School of MOM."

- Amelia

The small group coaching has been a lifeline to my sanity for the past year. When I signed up I had no idea just how impactful these women would be in my journey to trying to better myself and my parenting. I learn something about myself on every call from listening to them and connecting over similar experiences. The calls have made me feel less alone as a mother. Sarah has helped to provide a roadmap for incremental, do-able changes in a non-judgemental, swear like a pirate if need be, cry if necessary, empowering environment. I NEVER want to leave this group.

One of the most helpful things for me in Mothering Oneself Mindfully is the sense of community. Even though we are all doing this virtually, there is a sense that we are working alongside each other as like-minded mothers to find ways to find peace in the midst of chaos so that we can then better mother our children. I am finding that I am more aware of my triggers, more aware of what my body needs (movement!!!!), and in turn, working on self compassion. This is a process and a journey. This program has helped me to feel less like I am flailing in the world and gave me a bit of direction. It’s provided accountability, connection, movement (including more ball rolling!!!), and ongoing growth. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to continue this work with Sarah and other women in The School of MOM.

Enroll now and you’ll also receive this

BONUS TRAINING:

Mental Load Management for Moms

You don’t have to feel constant overwhelm and that you don’t have time for yourself.

This bonus training will give you a clear "mental load management" system and introduce my FAVORITE new management tool so you can take a deep breath knowing you won't drop any life/kid balls and most importantly, you can relax without worrying you're forgetting something.

You’ll receive lifetime access to this recording.

You’ll learn how to become your own bodyworker and take self-care literally into your own hands with Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls

It’s easy to fall into the rut of thinking that in order to get optimal self-care, you have to seek it outside of yourself.

And while getting a pedicure or a massage are truly blissful, they’re not always available to you for a myriad of reasons (the main culprits being time and money).

"The Mothering Oneself Mindfully Program opened my eyes to the power of mindfulness and gave me space to learn how to practice it. Sarah's expertise is only surpassed by her warmth, compassion and commitment to helping women cope with stress, uncertainty and life's daily grind. The School of MOM has enabled me to connect with a community of women who offer support, understanding and a sense of belonging in a world that can be isolating at times. I've only just begun to explore the practice of mindfulness and can clearly see the benefits of incorporating it into my life. I give all the credit to The School of MOM."

- Amanda

These barriers don’t have to be the reasons why you don’t treat yourself or nourish your body.

As an athlete and yogi with lots of aches/pains/injury recovery related stuff, I’ve personally been using Yoga Tune Up Therapy balls for almost a decade. And while the physical benefits of self-massage using these amazing tools are significant, the reason why they are an integral part of Mothering Oneself Mindfully is due to the mental and emotional benefits.

Here are a few key reasons why Yoga Tune Up Therapy Balls are my favorite self-care tool and why I can’t wait for them to be yours too.

Self-massage with Yoga Tune Up Therapy balls helps you:

  • insource vs outsource self-care and healing
  • work into the tension and stress in your body, to not only to relax your body, but to relax your mind
  • get to know your body in a way you never have before, and more importantly learn how to tune in, listen and shift your dialogue and relationship with your body from one that might be critical or distant to one that is accepting and kind

Talking about the benefits is easy, the only way to fully “get” their amazingness is to get rolling!

That’s why as a program participant, you receive a Coregeous Ball and set of Yoga Tune Up Therapy Balls to integrate seamlessly into the smallest pockets of time throughout your day.

“Yoga Tune Up Therapy Balls have changed my life and my body. I have them in every bag and corner of my house. They are my go-to tool for on demand mental, emotional and physical relief and healing.”

The last thing you need is another thing 'to do' or something you'll beat yourself up for when you don't follow through on it

That’s why I’ve made The School of MOM practices accessible — so you can integrate mindfulness and self-care into your life and what you’re ALREADY doing. All practices are easily accessible via the Kajabi App and/or a private Instagram page!

I am first and foremost a student of what I teach. I promise you that all of the practices I teach are ones I use regularly and am always adapting to accommodate my ever-changing daily life as a mom of 2 young kids.

For example, I’m always thinking up creative ways to help you use your Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls throughout the day so you become your own personal on demand massage therapist.

And you’ll learn ways to  practice mindfulness WITH your kids so that you can model this incredibly valuable practice, while reaping the benefits yourself.

More than tangible yoga and ball rolling practices, however, Mothering Oneself Mindfully is at its core about how YOU show up for and relate to yourself. It’s about working with your body AND mind to help shift your relationship with yourself to be one of self-acceptance and self-compassion so you can feel more present and grounded in your day to day experience as a mom/partner/friend/ colleague.

This program makes integrating mindfulness and self-care into your life possible so that you feel more present and grounded in your day to day experience as a mom/partner/friend/colleague/etc.

I was vaguely familiar with mindfulness practice, but Sarah helped me to strengthen the connection between mindfulness practice and my everyday life. There was no pressure or promises of immediate happiness or peace, but there were tangible everyday strategies, science based information about the way our brains work (science nerd here, I loved it), and most importantly gentle encouragement and compassion. There are so many amazing things to highlight about Sarah’s program, but my favorite by far has been being a part of the community. The willingness of other women to have an open dialogue with themselves and share so vulnerablely has made me feel incredibly empowered and cared for – by myself and by others. It’s just the start of my journey, and I’m grateful, especially now to have the resources and connection Sarah’s community provides.

-Ingrid

"Working with Sarah has changed my life and unlocked my soul to experiencing myself, my life, and motherhood in the way I’ve always wanted. She keeps its 100% real, offers you 360 support via extensive resources, yoga practice, mindfulness, and helping to reframe how I approached my anxiety and internal negative dialog. She’s extremely well read and brings that as a foundation coupled with her authentic way of connecting with you right where you're at....and always never with judgement. Sarah’s incorporation of mindfulness and self compassion have unearthed the tools of mothering myself which is something I hadn’t done for myself and now that I’m a mom is more important than ever."

- Christina

Still wondering if this program is for you?

It's been designed with you in mind if you:

  • Are committed to raising a present, kind, patient, compassionate and resilient kid(s).
  • Are tired of not receiving the support you need and yearn for from your Mother or from other people in your life.
  • Are seeking a community of smart, insightful women, who are open to being vulnerable with the support and guidance of a trained professional.
  • Are passionate about evolving your self-awareness to positively shift your relationship with yourself and shift habits that potentially haven't served you.
  • Are ready to confidently let go of all the self-doubt, shoulds and Mom-guilt.
  • Are tired of feeling run-down, lonely, anxious and overwhelmed by high expectations you have of yourself.
  • Are craving self-care and more balance, but are not sure how to get these things or even what self-care and balance look like as a Mom.
  • Are either curious about or committed to shifting generational cycles of guilt, shame and judgment for future generations to come.

If you’ve made it this far and are still hesitant, I’m wondering if this rings true for you...

"I feel guilty taking time for myself."

If so… you’re not alone.

In fact, you’re right where you’re meant to be.

This may sound weird, but I love talking about guilt.

Because here's the thing... the term #momguilt is thrown around and "felt" a lot, but it's often inaccurate.

The therapist and teacher in me can't help but to give you a quick nugget on guilt:

Guilt = I did something bad.

Shame = I AM bad.

We can't change what we don't see clearly or fully understand. The practice of mindfulness helps us to see things clearly. Through this program, I’ll teach you how to apply the foundational teachings of mindfulness so you’re able to look at your"guilt" in a new and different light.

I’ve witnessed so many of past MOM students have these ‘ah-ha’ moments...

The moment when they realize they’re not actually experiencing guilt, they're experiencing shame.

More important than the ‘ah-ha’ of understanding the nature of their guilt and what it actually is, I see how these moms learn how to make conscious steps to walk away from it to a place of feeling empowered and confident in their decisions.

This is a great example of how mindfulness and the Mothering Oneself Mindfully Program helps you get clear and honest about recurring thoughts and beliefs you're having so that you can make conscious and helpful shifts that serve YOU.

And the cherry on top is that when you own and approach your self-care without guilt, you can then model it for our kids and other moms.

The result? You’ll be raising a kid who understands on a very deep level that they are worth their own time and attention. That they are worth prioritizing themselves.

THAT is priceless.

Frequently Asked Questions

Since meeting Sarah I have been in awe of her natural ability to get others to let go and encourage others to let go with her (no one can dance on camera like Sarah!).

When I heard about The School of Mom it was a no brainer that I needed in!  The course became my outlet to focus on me and attempt to let go of mom guilt, especially missing bedtime... by the end of the course I was locking the door and fully letting Dad do bedtime, WIN!!!

Sarah's genuine and caring approach helped me shift my mindset that self care had to be a large chunk of time and realize even a moment of deep breathing could change my day. Along with Sarah, I looked forward to hearing from other mom's I could relate to and nod along with as we each shared our struggles. The sense of community, even when virtual, felt very real and much needed. Sarah is a truly gifted teacher!
